As is tradition, our 21st Annual QPF Golf Day was held at Links Hope Island on Friday the 11th of October.

This day provides a fantastic opportunity to thank some of our major clients and lenders with a social day on the green, complete with a healthy dose of friendly competition.

18 holes were played, as our teams travelled around the green to our German, American, Japanese and Canadian themed holes.

On the first hole we said Guten Tag! And welcomed players with a Bratwurst hotdog on a bed of sauerkraut, topped with mustard. Of course, we couldn’t have a German hole without BEER! So, our players were treated to tall cans of Oettinger Beer – Prost! Big thanks to Capital Finance who sponsored this hole.

Next up on the 6th, we had the crowd favourite, U-S-A! Why was it the favourite? Because Golf Pong brought some serious competition to the green. Players had to chip their golf ball into a bucket for an opportunity to win a JBL ‘Pulse’ Bluetooth Speaker. Congratulations to Simon Wallis who walked away as QPF’s Golf Pong Champ of 2019!

As our players continued to travel around the Links Hope Island globe, the 10th hole offered players a taste of Japan. Thanks to our platinum sponsor, Westpac, the teams washed down a tray of Chicken Karaage with a Koyomi Highball before continuing on their way.

And last but not least, all the way at the far end of the course (when travelling by golf buggy it almost feels as far as North America itself), our players found themselves in ‘Canada’ competing to win the Straightest Drive…by teeing off with an Ice Hockey Stick! It was all about technique over power here. We’re pleased to say that the hockey stick made it to the end of the day…just.
